Pirates of the Little Brick House

Gypsy Slow Down

I have really fun memories of Halloween growing up. My parents would take us to the fall festival at church and we would always enter the costume contest. My mom is super thrifty with the sewing machine so she would make our costumes. One time I went as a cluster of grapes, with purple balloons glued all over me (Ok, looking back that one was a little embarrassing). Our friends would have a party every year complete with a homemade "haunted house" in their basement. My friend's uncle would useally be hiding down there waiting to jump out at you. It was a lot of fun.

I don't like the dark side of Halloween. I love that our church did a trunk or treat, where kids could go and dress up, get candy and not be around anything scary. So we volunteered to host a trunk with our friends and dressed up as pirates. It was great. AND I got Witt in a costume.

Is it just me or does he look good with dreads? I could go for this look...

I painted a ship and sea background for our trunk and draped some fabric that looked like a net. We had a treasure chest for candy and some swords and hooks that all the kids loved.
